Great trainers make it look easy, but great partnerships make it look inspiring. True perfection in the show pen is only really achieved through the pairing of a talented horse and a trainer who believes in that animal. In this case, Sonita Lena Rey didn’t come into Corey Cushing’s barn until late in his five-year-old year, but the 2011 sorrel gelding made an instant impression, one that has certainly impacted Cushing’s career.
