Leather Craft

by By, Whitney Benton, Photo credit, Miss Millers Photography

The origin of leather craft is difficult to trace. It’s believed that the art form has been around as long as humans have inhabited the earth.

The use of leather has varied throughout history from basic warmth/survival, and other functional purposes to completely decorative and as a form of expression. As far back as the Middle Ages people used leather craft as a form of art around their homes in the shape of wall hangings and crests.

Unfortunately, there are no universal recommendations for the perfect arena surface or footing material.

It’s All About Her Horses

by Kate Sanchez

Stephanie Farnham enjoys showing. She appreciates the people she’s met and relationships she’s formed through being a horse owner.

But more than anything, she loves her horses. Perhaps she didn’t always plan on hitting the show pen in the later part of her life, but she certainly wouldn’t trade it for the world.

Rolling Hills Equestrian Center “Roll Of The Dice” Affiliate #1 Reining Show

The weather tricksters were at work during the first West Coast Reining Horse Association first affiliate show of the year held March 2-4 at the Equestrian Center at Rolling Hills Casino in Corning.

California reiners don’t get to show in snowy weather too often, but the snow that was predicted on Warm Up day, thankfully, did not materialize. In fact, rainy weather held off during the show days and visited only during the night time hours, much to the relief of the exhibitors. A special, educational treat for the exhibitors was a talk on Osphos and its uses by Jessica Morris.
