One Alley Cat Claims 2018’s First Major Win

One Alley Cat, shown by Cullen Chartier, scored 223 points to win the championship of the 2018 Abilene Spectacular.

Three horses scored 220 points to tie for second through fourth: Catarism RG, under Michael Cooper; Dontt Happen Twice, shown by Phil Rapp; and Dual Prime Time, with Tate Bennett.

Augusta Futurity Champions

The 39th annual Augusta Futurity is on the books, with a champion who last earned money in the event as a 2001 semi-finalist. Chubby Turner scored 220 points to claim the 4-year-old championship and $10,000 on Wanna Dual, owned by J Five Ranch, Weatherford, Tex.

Metallic Drifter, with Matt Gaines, and CR Sister Tuff, under Gabe Reynolds, tied with 217.5 points for reserve.
