This 2013 Hall of Fame inductee did more than just excel in the show pen, he was also a Quarter Horse breeding great. It was the day before Groundhog Day in 1973 when Freckles Playboy was born, sired by Jewel’s Leo Bars, a money-earning son of Sugar Bars, and out of Gay Jay, a spicy-hot cutting mare.
