Sweet Win for Sweat Son in PCCHA Futurity 4yo

Sweat Son, by Metallic Cat, scored 221.5 points under Lloyd Cox to win the 2017 PCCHA Futurity Open 4-year-old finals and $16,000 on October 10, in Las Vegas.

Betchalou, shown by Morgan Cromer, and SVR Caught Ya Lookin, with Grant Setnicka, each scored 219 points to earn $12,500 and split second and third.

Sales Soar at 2017 Congress Super Sale

The 2017 Congress Super Sale showed a strong market with an overall average sale price of $8,854. That posted an increase of 20% over the 2016 average. When the dust settled the Overall High Seller and Yearling Sale Stakes High Seller was a no sale in the ring and purchased by Andrew R Drnjevich, Ravenna, Ohio, later during the day at $75,000 was Hip # 34, Cant Stop Lopin, a 2016 sorrel mare sired by Lopin My Best and out of Make Mine An Odyssey.

Arizona Fall Championship Sees Continued Growth

The 2017 Arizona Fall Championship held in Scottsdale, AZ September 20th through 24th proved once again that it is truly the “Show For Everyone” with a broad canvas of opportunities.

The show offered a full schedule of Rail, Trail, Halter, Showmanship, Reining and Cattle Classes. It also expanded its offerings of Ranch classes with large numbers seen in Ranch Riding, Ranch Trail, Versatility Ranch Horse and Ranch on the Rail.

Wine & Roses Blazes New Trails

They say horse people are tough. Nothing illustrated that better than the week of October 9,2017 when it seemed half of California had caught on fire.


Rumor had it the Quarter Horse Exhibitors Association of California’s (QHEAC) Wine & Roses AQHA and Versatility Ranch Horse Show would be cancelled. Nothing could have been further from the truth which just goes to show the dedication and resilience of AQHA members.
