Bet Shes Smooth And Rockin KW Win AQHA World Titles

Bet Shes Smooth scored 223 points under Lindy Burch to win the title of 2019 AQHA Senior Cutting World Champion, on November 10, during the AQHA World Show in Oklahoma City. Pharoah And James, ridden by Clint Allen, claimed the reserve championship with 222 points.

In Remembrance of Robert C. (Bob) Norris

Robert C. Norris, husband of the late Jane W. Norris, passed on peacefully in the care of Pikes Peak Hospice, November 3, 2019, surrounded by his family. “Bob” was born on April 10, 1929 in Chicago, Illinois to Delora and Lester Norris.

He attended Elgin Academy in St. Charles, Illinois, where he grew up. He attended the University of Kentucky, where he played football under Coach Paul William “Bear” Bryant.

Arizona Fall Championship Keeps the Fun and Awards Flowing

Sunshine and blue skies greeted exhibitors in Scottsdale for the annual Arizona Fall Championship held September 18-24. With 7,607 AQHA entries and 9,308 total entries, the AZ Fall Championship saw increases in all divisions over last year’s show. The increases were seen across the spectrum including AQHA, NSBA and NRCHA. This show has something for everyone and every level. The show attracts World Champions, yet there were also first-timers launching their showing adventure in the arenas of WestWorld.

Reysin Kittens And Metallic Mania Split The Bill

Reysin Kittens and Metallic Mania, shown by Grant Setnicka and Adan Banuelos, respectively, tied with 222.5 points to become co-champions of the 2019 PCCHA Futurity Open Classic-Challenge on Sunday, October 6, at South Point Arena and Equestrian Center in Las Vegas.

Somethingtobelievein scored 221 points to place third under Brett McGlothlin.

The Fall Classic Quarter Horse show is a wrap and we thank each of the almost 3,000 entries for making this such a super show.

We had four strong futurities, the EMO Ca. State Championships (thanks to EMO representative Christine Hocutt-Senteney for their sponsorship and assistants Jan Brown, Stacy Dial and Stefanie Smith for the presentations) large classes, super prizes and of course, a memorable PCQHA Hall of Fame ceremony (thanks to Kristine Kesler- Brooks).

Here Comes The Boon and Lance Johnston are champions of the NRCHA Open Futurity and Intermediate Open

In customary reined cow horse fashion, Open, Intermediate Open and Limited Open championships at the $1.2 million dollar National Reined Cow Horse Association Snaffle Bit Futurity ® would be decided by the outcome of the fence work. The 50th running of the NRCHA Snaffle Bit Futurity opened with red carpet introductions honoring the 25 Open Finalist owners and riders, after which time the Open Futurity rein work, Intermediate and Limited Open cow work, and thrilling Open cow work finals rocked the famed Will Rogers Coliseum in Fort Worth, Texas.

AQHA Level 1 Championships Wrap-Up

After much anticipation, exhibitors were finally able to compete at the AQHA Level 1 Championships West! Due to a deadly outbreak of EHV-1 earlier in the year, AQHA postponed the Level 1 Championships West in order to ensure the safety of the horses. AQHA was able to reschedule their show to September when the Poker Rodeo Association Finals and Ranch Sorting of America graciously agreed to reschedule their event.
